Health Mobius has developed innovative Practice
Management tools for physicians interested in treating
obesity and providing quality health content to their patients.
Overweight and obesity is one of the fastest growing health
problems in the U.S. today and has driven many patients to
seek non-medically supervised, controversial, unsuccessful
and potentially dangerous forms of treatment. Both the Surgeon
General and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have prominent
campaigns designed to alert primary care physicians (PCP)
to the health problems caused by obesity and to get them to
play a more active role in patient weight management. The
time, staff and energy it takes for successful long-term treatment
and monitoring of obese patients is at odds with the trend
towards short, face-to-face time between provider and patient.
In order to realistically address this public health problem,
it is clear that new, efficient tools must be made available
to the primary care provider.
